In both roles he served the South Laurel area as much as other parts of the District VI area of Prince George's County (Laurel, Beltsville, Calverton, Adelphi) -- and it was in South Laurel that he was killed serving our community.

Please see the Updated Procession route (below) and on Thursday before and after the 11 am service, please consider standing along that route when the procession lead by a fire truck will pass carring Cpl. Findley to the 11 AM service and then after the service (about Noon) to his interment.

Old Muirkirk Meadows Driving Range Fire June 13

(Pictures)
At 4 AM Friday, June 13, 2008 Laurel Volunteer Fire Department extinguished a fire inside the old golf driving range office building which has been empty for over two years at the west end of Muirkirk Rd at Muirkirk Meadows Rd (map). This was learned from comments at 3:30 pm by a Laurel Volunteer Fire Fighter on the scene, whose unit and two other fire trucks had come back that afternoon to handle a rekindle at the site.

As happens with empty buildings, for the past several months there has been, and still is, extensive graffiti on the west-facing wall, and it may have become a hangout.
