That means area residents and motorists may see it hovering over individual transmission towers or power lines for several minutes before moving to the next piece of equipment. They'll be taking some photographs, and there will also be inspection crews on the ground.
The majority of the work will take place weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 pm, and includes locations in Prince George's County, Anne Arundel County, Calvert County, Carroll County and Frederick County.
BGE will use the aerial images and ground surveys to identify any worn or damaged equipment and schedule it for repair or replacement.
