The Laurel Police Department takes driving under the influence very seriously. And to prove it, they will hold two Sobriety Checkpoints in May.
The first will be on May 1, 2015, from 11:00pm – 3:00am.
The second Sobriety Checkpoint will be held on Friday, May 22, 2015, also from 11:00pm – 3:00am.
Both will be held in the 100 block of Second Street (Northbound Route 1).
Mayor Craig A. Moe and Chief Rich McLaughlin agree the way to reduce motor vehicle injuries and deaths is to remove impaired drivers from our streets.
Conducting periodic sobriety checkpoints raises public awareness and informs citizens about the efforts that are being used to identify and apprehend impaired drivers.
