2020.08.08 UPDATE 1700 per the Crystal Plaza property manager:
The owners of Pollo a la Brasa have sold their business and the new owners will be changing the concept. The restaurant’s new name will be Angel Las Delicias and will serve American and Salvadoran cuisine.
Unfortunately the owners of Osaka decided to close after many years in the shopping center. Their lease had expired and due to Covid and other factors decided not to renew.
Celebritiez Jamaican Restaurant also closed at the onset of Covid and [may not] be re-opening, unfortunately.
A few new additions to the shopping center are Gloria’s Thrift and Gift next door to Food Lion. In addition to selling thrift store type items they will be taking over the dry cleaning which was previously done by Crystal Plaza Cleaners which is now closed.
Bliss Nutrition which serves healthy food options, smoothies, coffees and energy drinks, opened about a month or so ago.
Gentleman’s Cuts barber shop will be opening soon in the former Miles Barber Shop location.
We [property managers] are working to keep the shopping center occupied with good stores, restaurants and services. [COVID] is not a great time for new businesses, but we hope to have some other new businesses in the center soon.
2020.08.08 1600 (Updated above)
At least two restaurants closed recently in Crystal Plaza on Rt-197 at Muirkirk Rd.
Polo a la Brasa has closed permanently, to be replaced by a pancake place (per an obscure flyer on the windows)
Osaka Hibachi has closed "temporarily" [now permanently] , according to an undated note on their door, saying they would reopen in about "two weeks".
[GS: I did not see any other restaurant closures in Crystal Plaza, nor in Town Center at RT-197 & Contee Rd.]
